Partners on this walk, one in the Common Space Ardmore Garden Walks series are Common Space Ardmore, the Lower Merion Conservancy, the Friends of Linwood Park, Women in Horticulture, ArdWood Civic, and Bethel Ardmore Victory Gardens. Light refreshments will be served at the park. We will then walk the three blocks to Linwood Park, a 1 acre “parken” that used to be a parking lot, where we will be welcomed by Chris Leswing of the Friends of Linwood Park, who will tell the story of the park, its plantings, and its people.Įxpect to spend an hour or so on Delmont Avenue and arrive at Linwood Park by 11:30 am. We will be exploring the projects and gardens of the neighbors, some of whom will be on hand to chat with. Be inspired and ask questions about projects that include depaving, rain gardens, garden expansions using native plantings, and downspout planters that capture stormwater to reduce flooding and soil erosion. Delmont Green Street is an ongoing project that with the support of enthusiastic neighbors and generous funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has installed residential-scale green stormwater infrastructure.
